Philip Lew

Philip Lew, CEO of XBOSoft, oversees strategy, operations and business development since founding the Company in 2006. His broad experience spans across deep technical expertise as a software engineer, advising on technology and business processes to founding companies such as Pulse Technologies Inc, a leader in contact center systems integration, until it’s acquisition by EIS International. In a space of 25 years he has served as an Ernst and Young Consultant, led the Systems Integrations Services Group at EIS, held roles at executive level both in USA and Europe and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Alaska Pacific University.  As well as presenting at leading worldwide conferences such as STPCon, PNSQC and Better Software East-West, StarEast-West, his papers have been published in ACM, IEEE, Project Management Technology, Network World, Telecommunications Magazine, Call Center Magazine, TeleProfessional, and DataPro Research Reports.

Philip Lew is a certified PMP and holds a BS and a Masters Degree in Operations Research and Engineering from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Beihang University. He loves bicycling and has traveled the world visiting more than 60 countries to quell his passion for exploration and learning.

Ed Curran, Vice President of Engineering, oversees XBOSoft’s engineering efforts, including establishment of access into new technologies as well as continued improvements within XBOSoft’s automated testing methods. Ed possesses over 25 years of technology experience, starting his career as a radar systems engineer for Singer Electronics Systems. In 1988, he moved into Motorola’s Cellular Infrastructure Group, where he later held positions of increasing responsibility within engineering, operations, sales, market development, and business development, including overseas assignments in Hong Kong and Singapore. Ed then served as Executive Director of Network Purchasing at Verizon Wireless where he and his team governed over $5B in annual spend. More recently, Ed served as CEO for Go2Group and Executive VP International Business Development at ISCO International, as well as headed educational software firm FlashDragon, LLC.

Ed earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the College of New Jersey and an MBA from the University of Hull, UK.

SteveGohres

As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Steve brings to XBOSoft considerable experience in business and marketing. He served as a VP of Marketing for four years at Computer Associates, where he co-founded the consumer business unit which boosted the expansion of the CA footprint in web-based sales, driving distribution of security software to the home and small office markets. Under Steve’s stewardship, the stand-alone start-up division added over 300,000 new subscribers and $5 million revenue per year. An engineer by training, Steve provides a rare combination of management expertise, international project experience and technology. Steve’s experience in the oil industry includes both technical and management roles for UOP as Chief Process Engineer, Sales Manager, and Business Development Director in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Alan Harbitter joins XBOSoft’s Advisory board with over 30 years experience in IT services. In 1985, he co-founded an information technology services company, PEC Solutions Inc., and was jointly responsible for its growth to a publicly traded company with over 1700 employees. He served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer of that company until its sale in 2005.

Dr. Harbitter received his Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees in computer science from Cornell, the University of Maryland, and George Mason University (GMU), respectively. At GMU, his research concerned information security and, specifically, authentication in large and wireless networks.

Dr. Harbitter currently serves as the Board Treasurer of the Arc of Northern Virginia—an advocacy organization for the intellectually and developmentally disabled. He is also past board president and current board member of the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) Foundation. MCCP is a unique partnership between the Fairfax County government, the medical community, and private contributors to provide health care for the children of working poor families in Fairfax County, VA.

Carroll MarkleyCarroll Markley joins XBOSoft’s Advisory Board with a wealth of experience in finance and banking. Mr. Markley was the founding President and CEO of Millennium Bankshares Corporation and Millennium Bank, NA. He also was the founding President and CEO of First Patriot Bankshares Corporation and Patriot National Bank. He has served as a member of the Washington D.C. District Advisory Council for the Small Business Administration, and other boards as the Virginia Medical Care for Children Advisory Council, Northern Virginia Community Foundation Board of Directors and the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Professional and Technical Studies in Fairfax County, the Virginia Bankers Association Community Bank Council and the Virginia Association of Community Banks Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of Future Business Leaders of America and the Metropolitan Junior Achievement.

John Smith joins XBOSoft’s Advisory Board as a builder of world-class software businesses with more than three decades of experience and proven results in the IT Management industry building high performing organizations and high growth businesses. John served as General Manager & SVP, Enterprise Management Business Unit at CA Technologies, where he was responsible for the infrastructure management and application management portfolio of products. Prior to joining CA Technologies, John led product development at Nimsoft.

He previously spent several years at HP as a member of the management team that established the OpenView business and was instrumental in streamlining the product delivery lifecycle and bringing new products to market. At Agilent Technologies, a spinoff of HP, he founded and was co-general manager of the company’s internet service management business. He also founded leading business service management firm Indicative Software Inc.

John earned a BS in Computer Science at Colorado State University, where he also received his MBA.
