Accessibility is not optional. Many project decisions happen on a phone between meetings or on a laptop with a screen reader. Test keyboard navigation, focus order, contrast, and clear labels. Try common flows without a mouse. Check that long lists announce themselves to assistive technologies and that controls expose names and roles. In practice, that means boards that are fast and flexible, backlogs that are sortable and easy to triage, and flows that reflect the team’s rules. Test WIP limits and state transitions. Try to move a card without a required field. The system should guide rather than block, and it should explain why.
Permissions on boards are subtle. A contributor may move a story between “in progress” and “review” but cannot change acceptance criteria. A product owner can reprioritize but not edit time entries. Test those combinations. Automation rules can help with consistency. When a PR merges, move the card to “ready for test” and notify the tester. Create and edit rules, then verify they fire once and only once. Double actions are common when rules overlap. Your tests should catch them.

Treat automation like product code with owners, reviews, and time for upkeep.

A quick precheck for flags, keys, and test data saves wasted runs. When failures happen, record evidence with correlation IDs and compact logs. Triage is faster when the information travels with the failure.
Connect pre-release testing with post-release monitoring. Promote a few acceptance points into synthetic checks that run in production against non-destructive scenarios. Pair them with real user monitoring for performance and errors. When an issue appears in the field, trace it back to the acceptance point that would have caught it and add or refine the case.
